It is a common knowledge that Ifeoma Ada Kalu the wife of the former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, is hardly seen in public. Indeed, only a few will also recall her time as First Lady because she rarely made public appearances. At the time, her reserved personality gave rise to several theories bordering on her absence from the social and political scenes. Many years after her husband, Orji Uzor Kalu left office, she seems to have regained her groove and is now seen out and about in public now. A medical doctor, Ifeoma who is the daughter of late Prof Igwe and Mrs Menakaya was for the most part away from the limelight all through her husband’s tenure as governor and was always in and out of the country and hospitals due to some sort of ill health. It was rumoured that the former governor’s mother, Eunice Kalu was responsible for her poor state of health. With Ifeoma always in and out of Nigeria, the governor’s mother more or less assumed the role of the first lady and special adviser. Well Ifeoma seem to be ok as she was seen in company with her husband, Orji Uzor Kalu at an event recently.
