Former military Head of State, Yakubu Gowon‘s son, Musa is a married man, at least traditionally. He held his traditional wedding over the weekend with socialite, Vivian Agbonkhese in Benin City. For many who don’t know, Musa who spent 20 years in an American prison is the result of a love affair between the former military leader and the late public relations guru, Edith Ike Okongwu.

General Gowon had a well publicized spat with Edith for his refusal to accept that he was his son. He finally did in March 2016, after a DNA test was conducted. Musa was born during the Nigeria Civil War in 1968, when Yakubu Gowon was Head of State. This was shortly before he married his wife, Victoria while the war was on. Edith who eventually got married, first to Dr Okongwu and later to Nze Mark Odu, died of cancer in December of 2003.
