The Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has cleared the air on the viral pictures of his wives on internet over the hosting of Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu on her official visit to the State tomorrow.

Earlier today, social media was agog over a purported attempt by governor Adeleke’s two wives to outshine each other, with both of them laying claim to the Office of the First Lady of the state.

Two posters allegedly printed by the two women, Ngozi and Titilola, had gone viral with their names and pictures welcoming Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to the state and both of them signing off as the official first lady.

Mrs Tinubu is billed to be in Osogbo, the state capital on Tuesday for the turning of sod of the Alternative High School For Girls at Oke D.O, Ilesha Road.

Dousing the air, the governor in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mallam Rasheed Olawale clarified that there is only one official first lady in the state

“The attention of Mr Governor has been drawn to fake news in circulation about conflict over who among the Governor’s two wives is to host the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu on her official visit to the State tomorrow.

For clarification, Chief (Mrs) Titilola Adeleke, the First Lady of Osun State, is officially hosting the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria tomorrow in line with the directive of Mr Governor. There is no confusion on this official position.

“The flier circulating purportedly from the Office of Erelu Ngozi Adeleke, the wife of the State Governor, is fake news and the person behind it was nabbed and questioned last night. The said flier was never authorized by Erelu Ngozi Adeleke. The material was manufactured and shared by elements who wanted to sow discord and create an atmosphere of confusion.

“The state government under Governor Ademola Adeleke is set to receive the First Lady and her team in Osun State.

In the words of Mr Governor, “I am elated to host our dear First Lady and my old colleague at the Senate. Our people must troop out to welcome her. She deserves a rousing welcome for endorsing Osun as the location for the alternative school for girls.”

Erelu Ngozi Adeleke, the 58-year-old light skinned governor’s first wife lives in the United States and has been for many years. She is has no plan to relocate to become the first lady.

From eastern Nigeria they have been married for close to three decades. Some people are of the opinion that besides his undiluted love for her, he married her to satisfy the eastern Nigerian blood in him.

For many who do not know, the governor’s mother was an Igbo Christian woman from Enugu State named Nnenna Esther Adeleke. She married the governor’s father a Muslim, Raji Ayoola Adeleke who was also a former Senator. Ngozi bore the governor four children; Folashade Adeleke, embattled Shina Adeleke aka Sina Rambo, Adebayo Adeleke aka B-Red and Adenike.
