The union between the former Managing Director of MNet, Biola Alabi and her husband, former managing director of Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), Makanjuola Alabi has unfortunately, ended on a sad note. The crash of the 10 year union has left many dumbfounded, as many can’t exactly comprehend what happened between Biola and the man she once described as her biggest supporter.

Reports even have it that so bad did the marriage break down irretrievably that the once loving couple do not talk again and are said to be happy and moved on with life without each other. However, contrary to belief that the marriage recently hit the rocks, the couple allegedly got separated a long time ago but they succeeded in keeping it under wraps to avoid media scrutiny.

While some believe that Mako’s dwindling finances was the sole reason the marriage crashed, while also allowing the consequent frustration and depression get to him, others are of the belief that Biola didn’t provide the much needed succor Mako needed in his trying times. Mako who was sacked by former Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola, following evidences of alleged financial misappropriation and abuse of office was all set to bounce back when he set up VIMedia, a premier, high-impact outdoor and indoor advertising solution in Nigeria. Unfortunately, all hopes of getting big budget businesses was dashed, thus leading to his dwindling finances.

On Biola Alabi’s part, after her high-profile job as managing director, MNET Africa, she floated Biola Alabi Media, a content creation and consulting company working across the world in broadcast, telecommunications and digital industries. She also ventured into movie productions and is the brain behind box office hits like Banana Island Ghost and Lara and the Beat.
