It is the festive season and there will be lots of traveling to visit family, friends and loved ones. However travelling can be quite stressful and whether you are traveling by plane, bus, or car, it can take its toll on your appearance. But with these few travel tips, your face should be able to survival any onslaught while looking your best on the go.

Moisturize. Apply moisturizer before you fly to help increase hydration as cabin pressure is sure to have some dehydrating effects.

For oily skin

For dry skin

Skip foundation instead wear only moisturizer. But before you land, add a tinted moisturizer for a fresh, healthy look. If you just can’t leave the house without some foundation, be sure to put on a silicone based primer first to put a layer of protection between your skin and makeup. It will also help foundation last longer and help keep your skin from becoming dehydrated.

Mist with mineral water to refresh makeup and add a dab of moisturizer.

To keep oily skin from getting out of control, use blotting papers to dab the ‘T’ zone as often as necessary. Blotting paper will dab up the shine and excess oil without stripping out the moisture, so you’ll arrive your destination looking fresher.

Skip long-lasting lipsticks as they will only dehydrate and parch your mouth, instead, color your lips with several coats of a lip stain, let dry, then top with a clear gloss. Reapply the gloss throughout the trip so your lips will look just-made-up fresh. If you would rather forgo lip stain, carry a lip treatment. Perhaps a medicated lip balm. You can also it on the lip stain and it won’t rub off. This is important as air conditioning can also cause lips to feel dehydrated.

Reading or sleeping during a journey can cause you to arrive at your destination with red, watery eyes. To avoid this, don’t forget to have your eye drops handy to lubricate and soothe eyes.

Avoid wearing false lashes of mascara while traveling. Also skip cream eye shadows, which has a tendency to move around on your face if you sleep during the journey

To minimize breakouts while you’re on vacation, avoid touching your skin while you travel. You can pick up unknown bacteria that can result in any number of skin problems after you arrive

Never leave home without a tube of your favorite hand cream in your tote bag, and use it liberally throughout the trip. This will not only keep your hands from drying out, but in the event you do need to wash them, it can help counter the effects of harsh commercial-grade soaps found in public restrooms.

Pack your beauty products. It is recommended that you bring your high-end facial products along with you but in travel size packs. That way, you not only continue with your beauty regime, you are sure not to go looking for cheap ones to buy when you arrive your destination. But be sure they multitask. For instance a lip stain that can also serve as a blush or eye shadow. Keep it simple.

Keep your hair together by either using a good hair brush or simply cover your hair with a beret or scarf . That way, you keep disheveled hair look in place.

Be sure to drink lots and lots of water to remain hydrated.

Do these and you arrive your destination happy and beautiful.
