There was confusion at Akala Expressway, Elebu area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Tuesday as some houses and shops in the community went up in flames. The fire outbreak, which started in the early hours of Tuesday, began from one of the shops along the road. However, the actual cause of the outbreak could not be confirmed.

Security agents were on the ground to ensure safety in the area as firefighters tried to put out the fire.

Meanwhile, another fire outbreak has occurred at the power plant of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) at Ayede, Akinyemi, Ring Road, Ibadan. It was gathered that the inferno engulfed some facilities. The raging fire is still burning. Efforts are being frantically made to contact the men of Oyo State Fire Service.’
