Another social media troll Agozy Samuel, one of the individuals who accused gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey of being the father of fellow gospel artist, Mercy Chinwo’s child has issued an unreserved apology.
Samuel had categorically said that Chinwo’s son looks very much like Bassey and therefore wants Chinwo’s husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa to carry out a DNA test on his ‘son’ to avoid raising another man’s son.
Samuel whose social media name is Agozi Comedy said, “I want you to share this video until it reaches Mercy Chinwo’s husband. I don’t want to hear judgement for this person or that you trained somebody’s child. Go and do DNA test, I don’t know how Nathaniel Bassey’s face is looking like your son’s face. That your son no resemble you or Mercy Chinwo. Wetin concern your son with Nathaniel Bassey?
“You guys should see the picture in this video. This Mercy Chinwo’s husband, if you do not go and do DNA now, you will end up training bother man’s child, mark these words. I am passing this message across to Mercy Chinwo, the gospel artist, I am passing this to her husband, I want you guys to share this video so that Mercy Chinwo’s husband will see this video. If we can tell ourselves the truth, who does the child resemble, does he not resemble Nathaniel Bassey?
Apologising via a Facebook post, he said, “To those I offended, I am very sorry, I am very sorry. Life is a process and we learn from our mistakes.”
Samuel is no stranger to defaming people.
In January, he had alleged that comedian and actor, Ayo Makun was in an amorous relationship with May Edochie, the estranged wife of actor Yul Edochie, and hence responsible for the marital crisis between the couple.
He would later apologise to Makun after the comedian petitioned the Delta State police command for criminally defaming him and cyberstalking.
Samuel appealed to him to forgive him for speaking ill against him, adding that he did it “out of hunger” and because he wanted to trend.
He said, “Comedian AY, I’m very sorry for everything that happened. I’m begging you that whatever thing I did, I did it out of hunger. I’m sorry for speaking against your child, the little baby that doesn’t know anything. And I’m sorry for speaking ill against you.
“I was depressed. On my page, people don’t follow me. People don’t watch my skits, so I needed to do something to trend, that was why. It was not my intention to bring you down and it can never be my intention. Please forgive me.
He said, “AY please forgive me, I’m very very sorry. Please forgive me for the video, I just did. I’ve deleted all those videos from my page. I want to tell the public that the videos I did were fake. I just did that to get popularity.
“Life here in Sierra Leone is hard. I needed to trend, I needed to make money so that I would not come back to Nigeria empty-handed. I did not do the video because somebody paid me to spoil your name. And I’m not doing this apology video because AY or anybody else chatted with me. Nobody chatted me. I slept over it and I know that what I did was very bad. AY please forgive me and I promise you that this thing will not happen again”
“You’re my senior colleague, you’re my senior brother. Please, forgive me, It’ll never happen again.”
