The 17th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Award, AMAA held on Sunday November 28 at the Marriott Hotel, with many carting home awards in recognition of their brillance and excellence in African cinema.
Over 500 films were submitted for nomination but 26 categories were eventually considered.
Hosted by the duo of Chioma Omeruah aka Chigurl and Stanley Chibuna, otherwise known as Funny Bone, the two gave a spectacular performance which added glamour to the occasion.
The event was attended by the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who arrived the venue early with his entourage.
Two movies, Eyimofe and Gravedigger’s
wife won big at the event. The two movies carted home five awards each in different categories.
