These are indeed trying times for billionaire businessman, Dr. Ernest Nnaemeka Azudialu-Obiejesi, founder of Nestoil PLC, one of Nigeria’s foremost indigenous Oil and Gas Company. Just yesterday afternoon, his private jet, a Gulf Stream G200 with registration number, 5N-BTF crash landed and skidded off the Abuja International Airport runway. Not only was the private jet badly damaged, the incident forced planes that were due for landing to return to where they departed from and prevented several other planes from taking off from Abuja. In turn, hundreds of passengers became stranded at the airport as the airport management battled with how to get the aircraft off the runway. For this reason, a lot of planes had to land at the nearest airports. Trouble started when a few minutes before landing at the airport, the pilot discovered that the landing gear was not operational and had to land the aircraft with a broken landing gear which severed from the aircraft upon landing.

The aircraft landed on its belly at the airport with 4 passengers and three crew members on board.  Luckily the seven people on board escaped unhurt. This will be the second known time the oil mogul who is fondly referred to as Obijackson will narrowly escape death. In 2015 during the presidential and National Assembly elections Ernest who is a king maker of some sort had tried to intervene in a post in his Ihiala, Anambra State community concerning the altering of election results in favour of some candidates who obviously lost the House of Representatives election. His move was said to have angered one of the politicians that would benefit from the unlawful act. The politician promptly assaulted Azudialu, while political thugs riddled his Mercedes Benz G-Wagon SUV with bullets as he tried to run to safety.

A man of means, Ernest who also owns Energy Works Technology Limited, B&Q Dredging Limited, Gobowen Exploration and Production Limited, Century Power Generation Limited and Time Power Global Dynamics Limited, Smile communications, is a philanthropist who has done his best to elevate his Ihiala community with modern infrastructures and amenities. From building a multi-million naira state-of-the-art medical facility, Obijackson Women and Children’s Hospital (OWCH), to the construction of the St. Peter’s Stadium as a facility for social integration and youth empowerment to several other amenities for the benefit of members of his community.
