The Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladuni Oyewimi, the Ajagungbade111 has asked the Oyo State governor to use the balance of N90m of the N100m promised him by the state government for the renovation of his vandalised palace to empower youths in Ogbomoso
Governor Seyi Makinde while visiting the Soun and the families of the slain Isiaka Jimoh and others who lost their lives during the #ENDSARS protests in Ogbomoso a weekend ago, had approved an immediate release of N100 million (One Hundred Million Naira) for the renovation of the palace.
The palace was vandalised by hoodlums during a visit to the monarch by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Sunday Dare, on Sunday.
The governor also made a commitment to the families of the slain individuals to work with them to know the areas the government could be of help to them, in order to cushion the effects of the losses of their loved ones. He thereafter gave N1 million each to the families of the deceased.
In a letter addressed to the governor, he explained that beyond the #ENDSARS protest, most Nigerians have become frustrated over prevailing harsh economic reality in the country, stating that while his government is not against peaceful protests, protesters must be responsible enough to voice their concerns peacefully. He promised that the state government would work more at ensuring that youths in the state are meaningfully engaged.
The letter reads:

I would like to thank you once again for your kind gesture on your sympathy visit to the Palace. We appreciate your contribution of a down payment of Ten Million Naira towards the renovation of the Palace. Consequently, I would like your Excellency to stay action on the remaining Ninety million Naira. I suggest that the balance should be spent on youth empowerment in
my domain.
As I said during your visit, it is extremely important that we should empower our youths to contribute meaningfully to our development.
I thank you once again for your kind gesture.
