Dele Momodu, the publisher of popular Ovation Magazine and a staunch supporter of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has explained why he took to social media to ask the presidential aspirant to concede the election.

Dele had earlier taken to his Twitter handle on Tuesday and asked Atiku to call President Muhammadu Buhari and accept defeat while the result of the presidential election were still being collated. In the 18 states announced so far, APC has won in 10 while PDP has won in eight. He said, “My dear WAZIRIN, as a believer, you are aware that only God can give or take power. You’ve written your name in gold. Do not wait a minute longer. Please, pick that phone and call President Muhammadu Buhari. You have much more to gain Sir… Pass on the burden!”

A former aide to ex president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri quickly disagreed with his method of attempting to reach out to the presidential aspirant and tweeted at him;

Sensing that he may not have done the wisest thing with his tweet, Dele Momodu tried to explain his reason for asking Atiku to concede defeat.
