Three years after graduating from the Music department of Babcock University, singer, Davido has commenced his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, posting pictures and videos of himself in the full NYSC uniform and captioning it, “Otondo OBO. Tying up every loose end!”

The NYSC programme is mandatory for all graduates to qualify for gainful employment in Nigeria. Kemi Adeosun, minister of finance, was recently accused of obtaining a fake NYSC exemption certificate. Adeosun reportedly failed to participate in the NYSC programme as at when due.

According to a report by Premium Times, the minister’s exemption certificate was purportedly signed in September 2009 by Yusuf Bomoi, a retired brigadier-general. However, it was discovered that Bomoi officially left NYSC on February 13, 2009, giving rise to queries on the originality of the certificate. The minister has refused to comment on the matter since the news broke.

Davido who recently released a single with Port Harcourt based artiste, Duncan Mighty is currently gearing up to release his new album in September, after which he intends to headline a concert at the O2 Arena in London, UK.
