Ali Madaki, the father of 37-year-old singer, Alizee Zainab Nielson who was found dead alongside her four year old daughter, at their Ocean Parade, Banana Island home singer and her four-year-old daughter, Petra, last week, has opened up about his daughter and her Danish husband, Peter Nielson Schau, while his daughter was still alive. Some reports have alleged that the late singer’s husband murdered them.
He said, “I have known my late daughter’s husband for over seven years now. At the outset, he was of good character but last year, he started fighting his wife. Last November, a case was reported at the police station when he beat her to a coma. He then wrote an undertaking that he would never batter her again.”
On the gruesome murder of his daughter and granddaughter, Madaki said, “The husband claimed it was gas suffocation that killed them. We know that gas doesn’t kill people that way. In the pictures, you would see bruises all over their bodies. They were strangled to death. I strongly believe he did it because their compound is highly secured. Whenever I visited them, the security operatives had to confirm my visit with them before I would be allowed in.”
Stating that he was unaware whether the Danish man was a drug addict or alcoholic, Alizee’s father said, “I don’t know if he has a history of being an alcoholic or drug addict. She once came back to our house in Abuja after being battered by her husband. She was there for almost a month. The man came and started begging that he was drunk.
Peter Nielsen, has since been arrested in connection with the murder. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Chike Oti, has confirmed the arrest of the suspect for murder. He said, “The state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, has ordered the arrest of the suspect and he is in police custody.”
Homicide detectives attached to the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Lagos State Police Command, have launched investigations into the murder of the singer and her daughter even as the police disclosed that preliminary investigations showed that the victims were killed in the master’s bedroom while their corpses were dragged to the kitchen, to make it look like the kitchen was the scene of the crime. Police have also discovered marks of violence on the bodies of both mother and child.
The command has also written the Embassy of the suspect that the police are investigating the case.
