Embattled R & B singer, R Kelly has canceled a number of forthcoming dates on his new ‘After Party’ tour, including an Oct. 6th concert at Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles. The cancellations are not unconnected to the growing allegation by music journalist, Jim DeRogatis, that the singer was keeping what he described as an ‘abusive cult’ of women against their will.

Some of the alleged victims’ parents had accused the veteran singer of holding their daughters against their wills and keeping them for his sexual pleasures in what their parents are calling an abusive sex cult.

However, the young women in question have the police that they’re there of their own free will. And since all of them are at least 18 years old, the police couldn’t do anything.  R Kelly has also denied all of the allegations adding that he will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.

Just last week, a petition urging Sony music to drop the singer from its label had  garnered more than 9,000 signatures, heading toward a 10,000-person goal. According to the originators of the petition, Care2 members, “We have routinely spoken out loudly to stop serial sexual predators to whom society has given a pass, including Bill O’Reilly, Bill Cosby, and Dr. Luke,” the Care2 petition reads. It’s time to speak out just as loudly against R. Kelly.

Besides the Los Angeles show, R Kelly has so far also nixed forthcoming concerts in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, La., and Dallas.
