An Upper Area Court in Zuba, Federal Capital Territory has issued a bench warrant against controversial ‘kayanmata’ seller, Hauwa Saidu Muhammed, more popularly known as Jaruma.
Jaruma was absent at the resumption of court hearing yesterday, Wednesday, February 22, 2022.
The judge, Ismailia Abdullahi accused the aphrodisiac seller of shunning the court despite knowing the hearing date.
He stated that if she is not sanctioned, it will make a mockery of the Administration of Criminal Justice.
“The defendent knew today was for the case and she ignored the call to come to court.
“By not taking any step, it will make a mockery of the legal system, going by the provision of Section 131 of the Administration of Criminal Justice and after listening to the submission of the  prosecution counsel, I hereby issue a bench warrant against the defendant in this case, one Hauwa Muhammed aka Jaruma and order the surety to come to court to explain why she shouldn’t be arraigned.”
The matter was adjourned till March 22, 2022.
Recall that Jaruma was arraigned before the court in January for alleged dafamation of character, false news  publication and intimidation of business tycoon, Ned Nwoko on social media.
Nwoko accused Jaruma of publishing falsehood on her Instagram against him and his wife, Regina Daniels.
The judge ruled that she be remanded in Suleja Correctional Center pending the hearing of her bail application.
He however warned all the parties involved in the matter to refrain from actions that could be considered prejudical to the case.
Jaruma regained her freedom on January 28 after meeting all the bail conditions but she was absent at the hearing which took place on Wednesday.
