A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has awarded N50 million against Elisha Abbo, the senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, for assaulting a lady in a sex toy shop last year.
Senator Abbo was ordered by the court to pay N50 million to Osimibibra Warmate, the woman he assaulted on camera in March 2019.
The civil judgement comes weeks after a Magistrate Court in Zuba, Abuja, acquitted the Adamawa-North lawmaker of assault instituted against him by the police.
Senator Abbo was caught in a viral video in March 2019 assaulting Osimibibra Warmate in a sex toy shop in Abuja. He would later apologise to the victim in a televised press conference following a backlash from Nigerians who also wanted him removed as a member of the upper chambers.
