The Black Pearl Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a culture of sisterhood, success and community service driven by and for women of color. Founded in 2015, the project will once again collaborate with the Gidi Culture Festival to debut its personal hygiene project, Precious Goods’ in Nigeria.

The Precious Goods initiative is specifically focused on filling a needed gap in the society, by putting together items necessary for women to maintain proper hygiene during their monthly cycles. The Black Pearl project is set to raise awareness on this area of neglect by soliciting the support of corporate organizations, well meaning individuals and the community at large, in reaching women especially the less privileged.

On a holistic level, the Black Pearl project seeks to enlighten and empower women of color through its various initiatives, and events. Some of the organization’s ongoing projects include;

  • ‘TBPP SWEAThearts’ which is their primary self care initiative focused on health and fitness, providing women with a safe and supportive space to workout.
  • ‘Sisterhood Supper’ a seasonal dinner party for professional women to network and collaborate.
  • ‘#Hashtag Lunchbag’ is a worldwide humanitarian service movement that brings people together to assemble and distribute bagged lunches, complete with messages of love and encouragement, to those in need.
