Entertainment entrepreneur, Audu Maikori is in deep pains over the death of his friend whom he says may still be alive today if he knew that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would postpone the February 16 general elections.

Audu Maikori who is the founder and group CEO of the Chocolate City Entertainment, said his friend died on his way to his hometown, where he was travelling to cast his vote.
“I just lost a dear friend yesterday. He died on his way to his hometown in Akwanga – he was heading to perform his civic duty. If he only knew that INEC would cancel the elections, he wouldn’t have travelled. Who knows He might still have been alive today #RIPJerry,” he tweeted.

Early Saturday morning, Mahmood Yakubu, the INEC chairman informed Nigerians on Saturday morning, preparatory to voting commencing that then scheduled general elections would no longer hold as planned. Many Nigerians flew into the country to participate in the country’s historic elections, only for the poll to be postponed nationwide.
