A Magistrate Court sitting in the Tinubu area of Lagos has granted Fatima Bolori, the estranged wife of Aminu Atiku, who is the son of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar full custody of their children. Chief Magistrate K.B Ayeye ruled that the kids, Amirah, 8, and Aminu Atiku, 7, should be with their mother Fatima Bolori, who has been in a legal tussle with her ex-husband since their separation.

The estranged couple who got married in Borno State in 2007, enjoyed a five-year marriage before their union was dissolved by a Sharia Court in Maiduguri in 2011. Recall that last year, the ex-couple almost came to blows at their daughter’s school in Greenwood school in Parkview Estate, Ikoyi over the custody of their two kids.

In her judgement, the chief magistrate said, “The applicant is allowed to reside with the children at her residence at Katampe Extension, Abuja. Access is granted to the respondent to visit his children in Abuja and request for the children to spend holidays with him. The respondent is ordered to pay a monthly upkeep in the amount of N250,000.00 monthly beginning January 2018. The respondent is ordered to effect medical insurance on each of the children.”

Unfortunately, neither Aminu nor his lawyers were in court when the judgement was being delivered.
