Tears as Anslem Tabansi lays his son, Jesse to rest

It was an emotional scene of sadness, sorrow and tears as family and friends of singer, Jesse Tabansi, aka Jarhead, son of Lagos businessman, Anselm Tabansi gathered for his funeral. His journey to the great beyond with a service of songs which took place at Harbour Point, Victoria Island on Tuesday, April 24th. The venue was filled to capacity with mourners who were all dressed in black and who came to bid the likeable young man a final farewell.

Next day his remains were taken to his family home in Agbadana village, Nri Anaocha LGA, Anambra State. First to hold was a wake keep which took place at Oba Akunwafor Tabansi compound the late Jesse’s grandfather’s home, a top businessman who owned Tabansi Records. The wake was followed by the lying in-state and burial Mass. Rev. Fr. Clifford Aniefuna from St. Mary’s Eucharistic Parish, Nri. Agbadana conducted the mass. Some guests who came to commiserate with the devastated family included former Governor, Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi and his wife, Senator Uche Ekwenife, Chief F.B.I  Egolum, MD Fidelity Bank,Mr.  Nnamdi Okonkwo, Hon. Obina Chidoka, Chief Chike Chikeluba, Barr. Chilo Moedu, High-Chief Ease N. O. Esse, Chief Mike Okoye and Hon. Onyeibo Dazza Udeozo.

Jesse was the second son of top furniture outfit, Svengali boss, Anslem Tabansi. The young man who was in early 20s died via a ghastly motor accident said to have occurred at the Lekki area of Lagos. Unfortunately, while he passed on immediately due to the injuries sustained, his friend who drove the car was said to have gone into coma immediately. Anselm Tabansi his father runs a string of businesses, one of which is the Fahrenheit Hospitality group. His mum, Wendy, runs a fashion designing outfit. No doubt, it would take a while before his parents can over come their grief as Jesse was said to be a promising son who made his parents very proud.
