This year’s Golden Globes ceremony was not a typical awards show.
The 80th edition of the awards ceremony returned to the screens after it was not broadcasted in 2022, for the first time in 79 years since an ethics, finance and diversity scandal involving the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the group behind the awards, led NBC decided not to air the ceremony.
Soon after, reforms in the form of inclusivity began to take shape.
Hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael, who came out swinging at the HFPA’s longtime lack of diversity, the ceremony took place in Beverly Hills, California.
