The storm is definitely over for Amaka Chika Mbonu who has had to deal with and live with the shame of her husband’s public adultery mess. It is no news that a few years after her very cerebral husband, Chika Mbonu left Citizens bank as the Managing Director, he decided that working in the Lord’s Vineyard was the way to go. This was despite looking for a job in his field all to no avail. He became a Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David Parish, Victoria Island. He was always at the forefront of church activities. He was seen as a good counselor, always eager to help out but apparently, Chika’s zeal was a ploy to cloak his immoral tendencies. He preferred to minister to the emotional needs of his flock rather than their spiritual needs one which led him to father two children with one of his members, Doreen Bassey who was married to Chika’s protege, Henry Bassey. Naturally what followed was a suspension and subsequent ex communication. Having been away from the public space for a few years now, his very stylish wife who seems to have put behind the crisis that almost consumed her marriage is getting ready to return to social relevance. She is now an author of the book, ‘How to get your wife to swing from the chandelier in a red negligee’ , a book for couples written from a biblical perspective. She is already planning big for the launch of the book in February.
