Years after Nigeria’s king of comedy, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome otherwise known as Alibaba quit the television scene with his mid day talk show, the vererstile entertainer is all set to return to television with a late night talk show which he has aptly named ‘Alibaba Seriously’. A radio show host, motivational speaker, photographer and writer, Alibaba took to his Instagram to formally announce his return to television as well as the format for the late night show.

“I have always wanted a late night show. I wanted a live show. Something like #FridayNiteLive. I wanted a grand piano for live performances. I wanted 1 whole hour. 2 hours if possible. I planned it and held back from launching. #ZAKILO always said just do am. So finally. But why did I take so long after the set was built… I wanted to start at every new quarter. Each time it was about timing. At a time I thought 10pm was the ideal time. But it was not available. Where it was available, it was not going to be on the network belt.

“I was certain I did not want anything but network coverage. I wanted to reach more people at once. I was also not going to compromise on quality. So we kept holding up. Then Uncle #WoleCoker said first build the set. We can take it from there. So one year after… We are set to make late night television experience better. One step at a time. So ladies and gentlemen… all the boys and girls… Let me introduce you to #ALiBabaSeriouslyLive on NTA Network from 11:30pm every Sunday night… for a start. It will be daily soon. And trust me it would be worth staying up for.”
