The controversy on the alleged adultery between Queen Ajoke Badirat, one of the wives of the  Alaafin of Oyo, his royal majesty Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, with the Maiyegun of Yoruba Land, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal 1, is now being squashed by both parties.

While Kwam 1 has issued a statement denying the affair and vowing to seek legal redress against the online medium that began the rumour, Queen Ajoke Badirat is equally denying the affair too and laying curses on her detractors.

A few weeks ago, a certain Dublin based social media commentator, Esther Aboderin, more popularly known as Esabod known for her controversial quips and sizeable followership, had gone to town with the allegation. On her YouTube page, she was quite emphatic in making the unsubstantiated allegations of adultery, even claiming that she had warned that K1 was going to go after the revered monarch’s wives.

With time, the allegation began to grow traction with some alleging that Queen Ajoke had been sent packing from the Alaafin’s palace over the allegation.  Well the young Queen has not only denied the affair, she has also rained curses on those behind the rumours, saying that if she has ever been in any amorous relationship with K1 that all the gods of the palace should judge her.

“May all the gods of Alaafin deal with me if I ever had sex or any untoward relationship with K1. “I beseech the spirits of dead kings and queens to deal badly with me should the rumour be true, but if the accusation aren’t true, may all the curses be that of Esabod and her offspring,” she cursed.
