Nigerian children felt honoured at this year’s Children’s day celebration by international airline, Emirates airline with an interesting and fun-filled event put together to commemorate the Children’s day at the Silverbird Cinemas, located at Ikeja City Mall.

The children watched a blockbuster movie with the Emirates Regional Manager West Africa, Mr Afzal Parambil, and also had several photographs with the selected children all dressed in the Emirates pilot and cabin crew uniforms.

The presence of a beautiful cake and an improvised aircraft portrayed the brand in good light, and wowed the children who were keen on taking pictures with the cake and the improvised aircraft.  There were lots of food, drinks, popcorn, and souvenirs for the kids and their parents.

To further show the significance of children and how well appreciated they are, the airline pays attention to young flyers on board its flight with tasty meals, non-stop entertainment, toys and goodies to inspire the greatest of imaginations. It goes every step of the way to give children extra comfort while on a trip.

It offers a range of products and services with the needs of children in mind, and shares its passion and love for adventure with these future travellers as well as stimulate their curiosity.

To fuel a sense of wonder and imagination, Emirates has developed its own set of toys for children as well as teaming up with the travel experts at Lonely Planet Kids to create packs that inspire older children to explore more of the world.

The ‘Fly With Me Animals’ Magazine is also another product produced exclusively for Emirates young flyers between the ages of three (3) and Eight (8) years. It is a fun and colourful magazine which includes a colouring set which features Emirates little travellers characters, iconic Emirates cabin crew and pilot characters exploring the world.

Young travellers on Emirates receive specially designed headphones for a better fit and they can enjoy dedicated channels of children and family programming. Shortly before the Emirates flight departs, the Lounges in Dubai; both First and Business classes provide fun areas for the young travellers.

These children are kept busy with dedicated areas in the lounges for playing as well as adequate seating for parents to supervise their children. These play areas offer lots of entertainment and exciting interactive games suitable for kids of all ages, up to older teens.

Other special services for children and infants include, priority boarding for families with small children, special fares for children aged two to 11, 10kg free baggage allowance for infants not occupying a seat, baby kits, bassinets, nappies and baby change tables, baby bottles, milk formula and two types of jar food as well as food/ bottle heating services, special stroller delivery service for parents with babies in Dubai, provided immediately after disembarking, and family check-in area at Dubai.

Parents whose children are travelling alone can be assured of a smooth and stress-free journey from start to finish with friendly and helpful staff. The unaccompanied minors’ service is available for children from 5 to under 12 years travelling alone or children under 8 years of age travelling in a different cabin class from their parents.

Emirates young travellers between the ages of two (2) and sixteen (16) can also partake in the Skyward Skysurfers. Skywards Skysurfers is the airline’s frequent flyer programme for young travellers aged.
