Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, has been ranked first in Nigeria, third in Africa, and 73rd globally out of the 1,023 entries from 749 universities in 92 countries according to Times Higher Education’s newly unveiled Interdisciplinary Science Research ranking for 2025.

The institution was also ranked first among the universities in West Africa.

The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Abiodun Adebayo, was quoted as saying that the ranking was a validation of the visionary base of the university.

He added that the feat was a part of the extraordinary happenings recorded in the school within a short time with the effort to train a new generation of leaders in all spheres of human endeavour.

He said, “This is indeed a validation of our visionary base as a university. It is the hand of God at work in Covenant University and we give God all the glory!”

He commended the quality leadership and the unending support of the Chancellor and Chairman Board of Regents, Dr David Oyedepo, which brought huge transformation to the university

The Vice-Chancellor described Interdisciplinary Science as the integration of the knowledge, traditions and processes from multiple scientific disciplines.

“It can involve multiple academics who collaborate with one another across different disciplines. It may also be a single academic, approaching a scientific question across multiple disciplines,” he added.
