The Lagos State Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Ayodele Adewale, has claimed the bullion vans seen driving into Bola Tinubu’s residence on the eve of the 2019 presidential election “missed” their “way there.”

The former Amuwo Odofin Local Government chairman said this on Thursday during an interview on Arise TV.

Adewale said, “On the bullion van or no bullion van and all of that, I think that matter has been put to rest. There was no money in the bullion van. The bullion vans that even came missed the address to have come there.

“I was in that house on that very day and it was not on an election day. The bullion van missed their way to have come there.”

Countered with the claim that Tinubu admitted knowledge of the bullion vans, Adewale said, “He said that jokingly.”

In February 2019, viral visuals on social media showed two bullion vans inside Tinubu’s Bourdillon residence in Lagos on the eve of the presidential election.

Following reactions, Tinubu had addressed the issue, saying “Excuse me, is it my money or government money? So, even if I have money to spend in my premises, what is your headache?”
