The family of Bunmi Ademosun, the Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu on Multilateral and Intergovernmental Affairs have petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba and the Department of State Services, DSS over threats issued to their daughter by first lady of the state, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu.
IvoryNG had published details of a leaked audio where Betty accused the aide of sneaking concoction from ‘fake pastors’ to her husband the governor and allegedly scheming to become the deputy governor.
In the 2 minutes 39 seconds WhatsApp audio recording, Betty was heard threatening Bunmi to stay away from her husband.
“This is Arabinrin, I have a message for Ademosu and I believe that she’s on this Aketi’s women platform. I want this woman to stay away from my husband,” she had said
“What has triggered this very message is her recent meetings to become the deputy governor of Ondo state. Look at you, what have you got upstairs to become the deputy governor of Ondo state?
“I warned Aketi from the beginning that this woman is evil, this woman is no good and it’s happening. She has nothing good for you and I warned him. This woman is bloody evil. But I’m warning her for the very last time to stay away from my husband.
“And look, if you are dealing with an Igbo woman in this kind of situation, I’ll deal with you mercilessly that you won’t forget in your life. For the very last time Ademosun, stay away from Aketi, you won’t find it funny with me. You are a very terrible woman, go away and enjoy your look.”
Reacting, Chairman, Elemo Adedipe Dynasty of Akure, Adedipe A.Olajide, home and Diaspora, condemned the outright threat to the life of their daughter by Betty.
In s statement he signed, he urged the IGP and the DSS to call the governor’s wife to order.
Elder Olajide said the family would hold Betty responsible and accountable should anything untoward happen to our daughter and/or her assets.
“The Elemo Adedipe Dynasty of Akure is in possession of the audio tape issued by Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu (aka Arabirin) on Monday 16th January 2023. We understand that audio tape that depicts an emotional outburst has now become viral.
“We note with a sense of responsibility the outright threat to the life of our daughter – Mrs Olubunmi Ademosu (Special Adviser on Public and Inter-Governmental Relations to Ondo State Executive Governor) in the audio tape which Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has not denied up till now.
“We, therefore, call the attention of the Inspector General of Police and the Director of the Department of State Services and every lover of peace in this country to call Mrs. Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu to order over her threat to the life of our daughter – Mrs Olubunmi Ademosu
“The Elemo Adedipe Dynasty of Akure will hold Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu responsible and accountable should anything ontoward happen to our daughter and/or her assets (human and material)
“We empathize with Arakunrin Akeredolu as he faces this unusual emotional stress from within his household at a time he has health challenges and requires succour from every well meaning individual.
“It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. It is better to dwell in the wilderness than with a contentious and angry woman. Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness,,” (Proverbs 21:9,19 and 25:5, 24).
“We join the good people of Ondo State to pray for the speedy recovery of Arakunrin’s health so he can finish his term as Executive Governor with laudable legacies for posterity in Ondo State.
“May the Lord God give us peace in this state during this election year and beyond.”
