The royal wedding took place on Saturday, March 19, 2022 in the ancient city of Kano.
Prior to the wedding, there was a reception strictly for ladies held at the Gidan Rumfa, inside the Emir’s palace.
The wedding held at the residence of Madakin Kano, with representatives of the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo and Emir of Kano among other dignitaries who attended the event.
Babafemi Ojudu, a presidential aide on political matters represented the vice president at the event.
Mahmoud Sani, a relative of the bride stood as the bride’s trustee while Babalaje of Iwoland, Ismail Kudaisi served as the groom’s trustee.
Kudaisi announced the payment of 1 million naira bride price, after which both trustees announced the consent of the union.
Ahead of the ceremony, the Oluwo of Iwo unveiled his beautiful bride. He posted pictures of the princess on his Instagram handle and wrote
“We belong together and it’s starts now with my soul mate that I finally found.”
Recall that te controversial monarch had written to the Osun State governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, weeks before the wedding, seeking financial assistance to the tune of 20 million naira for the ceremony.
He would later deny this.
Oluwo’s third attempt at marriage is happening about three years after his messy divorce from his Jamaican born wife, Chanel Chin, the daughter of Jamaican reggae star, Ludlow Chin, also known as Bobo Zaro
The Oluwo’s first marriage was in 2015 with her after he was crowned a traditional ruler.
Oluwo’s marriage to Chanel hit the rock due to irreconcilable differences. The Oluwo claimed his ex wife attempted to poison him and took contract money for his life.
She however countered him, claiming their marriage was built on falsehood and that he never provided for her and their son, Oduduwa all through the duration of the four year marriage.
