Virgil Abloh, Off White founder dies of cancer at 41

Influential fashion designer Virgil Abloh is dead. He died of cancer at the age of 41. His death was confirmed today in a post on his Instagram

Influential fashion designer Virgil Abloh is dead.
He died of cancer at the age of 41.
His death was confirmed today in a post on his Instagram account
Abloh reportedly battled privately, cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare form of cancer for two years until he gave up the ghost.
He remained stoic while undergoing numerous challenging treatments and at the same time discharging his duties as head of several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture.
His work ethic never waned as he projected optimism and dedication to his craft.
Until his death, Abloh was the founder of the founder of Off White, an Italian luxury fashion label and was the first African American to head a prominent luxury French fashion house, Louis Vuitton as it’s Mens Wear artistic director.
“We are all shocked after this terrible news,” Bernard Arnault, boss of LVMH, the parent company of Louis Vuitton said of Abloh’s death.
Abloh is survived by his wife Shannon Abloh, his two children and his parents.
