The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has rewarded Dr Joy Oyinlola Adesina who made history by being the best graduating student ever produced in the history of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

The governor while receiving her and her family at the State House, Abeokuta, acknowledged her as a good ambassador of the state and a role model to be emulated by youths of the state.

Gov. Abiodun also rewarded Oyinlola with cash gifts of N5 Million, a house (bungalow), and a free scholarship for her residency programme at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, OOUTH.

The governor also charged Dr Oyinlola, who is a niece to the President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina to continue to be a role model to students looking up to her, noting that her responsibilities have increased.

He charged her not to relent but be more focused to attain the greater heights expected of her.

He commented that the reward given to the outstanding student is in line with the State Government’s commitment to reward the hard work of indigenes within and outside the state.

It was an emotional moment as the parents of the lady shed tears of joy seeing the efforts of their daughter recognized by the number one man of the state.
