Top US fashion designing company, Tommy Hilfiger has tapped Grammy award-winning Nigerian musician, Ayodeji Balogun otherwise known as Bigwiz, formerly known as Wizkid, for its “Pass the Mic” campaign aimed at inspiring people globally.

The campaign, which was launched on Monday, also features top entertainers including Yara Shahidi, Anthony Ramos, Jack Harlow, Kim Soo-Hyun, and DJ Cassidy.

“Speak up. Stand up. Light up the world. Yara Shahidi, Anthony Ramos, Jack Harlow, #KimSooHyun, DJ Cassidy and Wizkid are lighting up the world with their voices and their words—and passing the mic to you. What do you have to say? #TommyHilfiger #PassTheMic,” it wrote via its social media handles.

According to the company, the initiative was birthed by the idea that everyone has the power to affect and change the world because voices speak volumes.

The campaign addresses themes such as commitment, confidence, community, and societal change.

It also involves the public providing answers to various questions bordering on the campaign’s themes through short video clips which are to be sent to the brand’s Instagram page for direct engagement.

Some of the campaign questions directed at the public include “what inspires you to make a difference?” and “What would you say if the world was listening?”

“Everyone deserves a chance to see themselves for who they are,” Wizkid could be heard saying in the campaign video.

The “Pass the Mic” campaign is also expected to spotlight Tommy Hilfiger’s 2021 fall collections.
