Former Military President, Gen Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB (retd) has criticized President Muhammadu Buhari’s handling of corruption in the country.

In an interview aired on AriseTV on Friday, IBB boasted that he fought corruption better than the current administration.

He recalled how he sacked a former military governor who embezzled N313,000.

IBB fumed that those who stole billions are walking freely.

“From what I read, from analysis, I think we are saints when compared to what is happening under a democratic dispensation. Today, those who have stolen billions and are in court are now parading themselves on the streets. Who else is better in fighting corruption?”

IBB blamed politicians for disunity in the country. He said there was a time in the country when people held positions in regions outside their ethnicity, adding that the present crop of politicians are not serious about nation building.

“Till today, unfortunately, the political class are not really into this seriously and say how do we build a nation,” he said.

IBB himself has been severally accused of corruption. However, no known formal charges have been filed against him by successive democratic governments or individuals/groups.
