This seems to be the question on the lips of the fans of former bread seller turned model, Olajumoke Orisaguna.  Not much has been heard about her in recent times and a quick check on her social media page indicates that her last post was in late 2019.

The trained hairdresser became popular in 2016 when, while hawking bread on the streets of Lagos, she unknowingly walked into a photo shoot session of British rapper, Tinie Tempah, by Nigerian photographer, TY Bello, for Nigeria’s This Day magazine she interrupted a photo session by celebrity photographer, TY Bello, with London-based rapper, Tinnie Tempah.

Following this chance encounter, Olajumoke became an overnight celebrity, with several Nigerians and brands falling over themselves to be associated with her via endorsement and ‘charitable’ deals. She also acquired modelling skills as well as etiquette and social grace skills.

She travelled abroad, rubbed shoulders with celebrities and even started a Vlog series on Youtube where she documented happenings in her life.

Soon after, she began having problems with her partner Sunday who is the father of her two children. Sunday alleged that with Olajumoke’s new found fame, she had become rude and no longer respected him.

While denying the allegation, she however hinted that the accusation may have stemmed out of the fact that she no longer gives Sunday money.

And then she found out that her manager and publicist, a certain Victoria Nkong, had been cheating her and taking advantage of her naivety to shortchange her. On a certain deal signed by her which was worth N2m, Nkong reportedly only gave her a paltry N150,000.

But four years after all that media frenzy, Olajumoke still doesn’t own a means of transportation, no established business and will be moving out of the two-bedroom apartment luxury home builder, Sujimoto gave her rent free for five years this February.

To make matters worse, she is no longer being courted by brands and Nigerians who like to latch unto one’s success story. Perhaps, being left in the lurch may be responsible for why she has gone AWOL.
