In a new twist to the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, the party’s National Working Committee has ratified Abiola Ajimobi who is currently undergoing treatment for covid-19, as the Acting National Chairman.

It also disowned Victor Giadom, insisting that his membership of the NWC ceased when he resigned to contest the Deputy Governorship position in Rivers State.

Following his announcement as the authentic national party chairman, Giadom had nullified the disqualification of Governor Godwin Obaseki from participating in the party’s governorship election in Edo State.

He said, “As your Acting National Chairman and presiding officer in the NWC, we therefore cancel the decision of the Screening and Appeal Committees of the former Chairman of the party on the Edo primary.”

To this end, the APC National Vice-Chairman (South-South), Hilliard Eta reiterated that preparations for the Edo Governorship primary was on course.
