An art museum in Paris, Palais de Tokyo, a building dedicated to modern and contemporary art, has placed the visuals of ‘This is Nigeria’, Folarin Falana, more popularly known as Falz’s 2018 socio-political satire single, on display since July 2019. The 30-year-old rapper, whose father is human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, took to his Instagram to break the news.
The talented singer said he was at the popular gallery for the first time to see the display for himself. In the video which accompanied his post, Falz is seen with a headset in front of a cinema screen alongside his colleagues as the Childish Gambino-inspired song plays on.
“This amazing art gallery in Paris called @palaisdetokyo have had my work ‘This Is Nigeria’ on display for the past two months or so. Last night, I had the chance of seeing it for myself. I’m pleased to see this deep appreciation of art as a weapon of rebellion,” he wrote.
Ever since his career as a music artiste began in 2009, Falz has made a name for himself on account of the genre; style; and the theme of focus for which his releases are marked. He has also garnered prestigious awards and impressive collaborative deals to show for it.
The law graduate, who is known for fierce criticism of socio-political anomalies through music, has also entertained lawsuits, often shortlived backlashes; and severally made the headlines for his socio-centric albums and singles.
