Abductors of Pastor Elisha Numan, the Senior Pastor of the Nagarta Baptist Church, Makere, near Udawa in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State have reduced their initial N20m ransom to N7m before the pastor could gain freedom.

Pastor Elisha Numan and his son, Emmanuel were on Wednesday reportedly abducted by heavily armed men at their residence. The son was later released to be used as negotiating contact.

The abductors had earlier called the family through Emmanuel to demand a N20m ransom. The family was told to raise the money within three days, or they would kill the pastor.

Kaduna CAN’s Chairman, Rev. Joseph Hayab corroborated the report that the N20m initially demanded by the abductors had been slashed down to N7m and that negotiation was still on as of the time of filing this report.
“They have now asked for N7m but we are still negotiating.”

Hayab described the incident as sad, noting that the association trust in God that all would be well.
“It is sad but we are trusting God it will be well,” the cleric added.
