The highly anticipated annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2018 which took place on November 8th at Pier 94 in New York, expectedly, didn’t disappoint, what with the lineup of super models all adorned in costumes ranging from the relatively simple pairing of lingerie and stilettos to sculptural wings and elaborate headdresses as they strutted the Victoria’s Secret runway.
Here are some of the highlights of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
- Every year, a privileged model is chosen to wear the Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra. Swedish model, Elsa Hosk was chosen this year to wear the show-stopping piece which was created using 100 per cent Swarovski Creted Diamonds and responsibly sourced topaz. Valued at $1 million, the 2018 Dream Angels Fantasy Bra and body chain are adorned with over 2,100 Swarovski Created Diamonds in a sterling silver Dream Angels bra silhouette.

The set took over 930 hours to create and has over 71 carats with the centre piece. Luckily and for the first time, customers will be able to purchase a version of the Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels Fantasy Bra made with Swarovski crystals for $250 on Thursday, 29 November at selected Victoria’s Secret stores. - First timer, Kelsey Merritt, made history as the first Filipino woman to walk the runway.
Kelsey Merrit - After missing 2017 show, Nigeria’s famous model, Mayowa Nicholas made her Victoria’s Secret debut, something considered to be every model’s career highpoint, world over. The model missed the 2017 edition in Shanghai, China, owing to visa issues. An alumnus of Elite Model Look Competition, Mayowa Nicholas has walked the runway for Chanel, Fenty x Puma and Oscar de la Renta, among others.
Mayowa Nicholas - 37-year-old Brazilian beauty, Adriana Lima who has been an ambassador and muse for the lingerie giant since 2000, would be hanging her ‘wings’ for good. Lima had a whole segment of the runway show dedicated to her, complete with a video montage of her walks from over the years and a solo victory lap down the catwalk.
Adriana Lima - Canadian model, 24 year old Winnie Harlow, also had her VSF runway debut, making history as the first vitiligo model to partake in the show.
Winnie Harlow - Kendall Jenner, sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid, Candice Swanepoel, Martha Hunt, Stella Maxwell, Lais Ribeiro, Sara Sampaio, Cindy Bruna and Taylor Hill were some of the high-profile models who strutted the runway for Victoria’s Secret.
Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner - Bebe Rexha, The Chainsmokers, Halsey, Kelsea Ballerini, Rita Ora, Shawn Mendes and The Struts comprised the all-star line-up of musical guests who performed at the fashion event.
