Police say a suspicious package similar to the pipe bomb packages recently mailed to several high-profile critics of President Donald Trump such as former Democratic presidential candidate, Hilary Clinton, former president Barack Obama, was also delivered to the Tribeca office of actor and director, Robert De Niro early on Thursday morning. The package was found on the seventh floor of 375 Greenwich Street around 4:45 a.m. The building houses the actor-director’s Tribeca Productions, the Tribeca Film Festival office, and his Tribeca Grill restaurant. Authorities have sent the package to a secure facility in the Bronx.

X-ray images showed that the package sent to De Niro contains a device that looks similar to the pipe bombs sent to major Democrats earlier this week. The package sent to De Niro had Florida representative, Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s address as a return address, and used six American-flag stamps in two rows, just like the other suspicious packages.

The explosive devices were made from PVC pipe and contained a timer (likely a digital alarm clock) to set off the detonator. Additionally, the powder contained in the bombs comes from pyrotechnics. X-rays show that there was likely shrapnel inside the PVC pipe, law enforcement officials say. Multiple senior bomb technicians briefed on the case said that the devices had all the components necessary to set off a successful explosion.

De Niro has been a vocal critic of President Trump since before his election. Others who have received similar packages thought to contain a live explosive are former vice president Joe Biden, New York City offices of CNN, ex-Attorney General, Eric Holder, billionaire George Soros, former CIA director John Brennan and Rep. Maxine Waters of California. Luckily none of the devices detonated and no one was injured.
