Social media, specifically instagram is becoming increasingly powerful when it comes to influencing a consumer’s buying decisions and celebrities are often found to be the driving factor behind it. Celebrities, including actors, models and sportspersons, are undoubtedly raking in huge by acting as social media influencers. The potential for how much certain celebrities can make on social media is quite staggering and a new study has revealed the extent to which this is the case, and which A-listers are able to charge more than others.
Instagram-scheduling tool Hopper HQ has unveiled its annual Instagram Rich List. The list was curated based on Hopper HQ’s internal data, as well as public data on the value of a post, which was based on how much brands pay currently and what a post is worth in terms of engagement, reach and audience.
Coming in first place is almost-billionaire Kylie Jenner, who apparently can charge up to $1 million per post. Selena Gomez is next with $800,000, Cristiano Ronaldo in third with $750,000, Kylie Jenner’s half-sister, Kim Kardashian was in fourth place with the potential to charge $720,000 and Beyoncé in fifth with $700,000. Kendall Jenner and Khloe Kardashian also featured in the top 11. Other celebrities on the list are Cristiano Ronaldo, Beyonce, Dwayne Johnson, Justin Beiber and others. Interestingly, Kohli has left behind Stephen Curry and Floyd Mayweather to bag the spot. While he is 17th in the general list, his position betters to 9th in the sports category.
When broken down into fashion which did not include Kendall Jenner (who was ranked in the celebrity section) supermodel Bella Hadid came out on top. The platform estimated that she can charge up to $27,000 per post. Emily Ratajkowski was next with $26,500. Chiara Ferragni came next, making her the highest-ranking influencer, with Gianluca Vacchi in fourth and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley coming in fifth place. British presenter-turned-designer Alexa Chung came in 10th place, with an estimate that she can charge up to $4,500 per post.
