The patriarch of the Jackson family, Joe Jackson, who died last Wednesday at the age of 89 has been commited to mother earth. He was buried in the same cemetery as his late superstar son, Michael yesterday. The King of Pop was entombed nine years ago in the mausoleum at the opulent cemetery – which is also the final resting place of Elizabeth Taylor and Walt Disney. His daughter Janet Jackson led mourners at the pop patriarch’s private funeral service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, southern California.

Joe Jackson who died of stage 4 pancreatic cancer suffered health problems for many years, with trips to hospital in 2015 and 2016 for heart attacks and high fevers respectively.

Joe who is credited as being the brains behind the Jackson 5 group which launched his son, Michael’s pop career was a disciplinarian who handled his children with an iron fist. The late Michael in an interview before his demise later claimed he was so terrified of his father he would throw up at the sight of him.

Joe is survived by his wife Katherine, eight children and dozens of grandchildren. He sired Brandon who was born in 1957 but died within 24 hours. An eleventh child, Joh’Vonnie Jackson, was born out of an extramarital affair.
