Oil magnate and socialite, Dapo Abiodun has cause to smile again months after he lost his son, Olu in very mysterious circumstances. Dapo who is the chairman of Corporate Affairs Commission was recently conferred with a honourary doctorate in finance by the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti during the 23rd Convocation ceremony of the state university. The university chose to honour the chairman of Heyden Petroleum due to his philanthropic deeds and relentless strides at rewriting the African business narrative.
Recall that Dapo Abiodun lost his son, Olu, a Disc Jockey and friend to Davido back in October. Olu was found dead alongside his friend, Chime Okafor while seated in a car in Banana Island. Olu who was meant to have returned to the UK for his post graduate studies deferred his studies to set up a business fuel station and car wash business.
According to his father, “I begged him to go to school promising him that I would help do everything while he was away but he refused. If he had gone back to school, he wouldn’t have died. I pray that I don’t have to reciprocate this kind of visit to anyone present here.”
