Kim Kardashian-West is being accused of ripping off French designer, Jean Paul Gaultier’s signature body-shaped perfume bottle. The 37 year old reality TV star took to social media on Wednesday to unveil her new perfume bottle, KKW Body, modeled after her own body and shaped like her bust and upper thighs. In the wake of the reveal, Twitter users quickly pointed out that Kim’s bottle looks stunningly similar to Jean-Paul’s iconic design. The French designer launched his fragrance, Classique in 1993, and the bottle, shaped like a woman’s bust, has become just as cult as the fragrance it contains.  Even though it has been redesigned several times over the years to dress the bust in various colors and styles, the woman’s bust has always remained the quintessential element of Jean-Paul’s bottle.

A similar concept was used for the bottle of his men’s fragrance Le Male, which is shaped like a man’s chest. Now not only is Kim’s new perfume bottle giving people a sense of De javu, she is being accused of ripping off Jean-Paul Gaultier’s iconic perfume bottle for her own fragrance. But Kim posted a photo of herself naked with plaster on her body as part of the process to manufacture the container.  She said, “Sculptures were my inspiration, but I love that bottle. It’s iconic and celebrates the woman’s body, but my inspiration was a statue. I wanted mine to be really personal with my exact mold, but I’ve always loved the Gaultier bottles.”
