The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the incumbent governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, winner of the November 18, 2017 governorship election in Anambra State. Gov Obiano won in a land slide victory, sweeping the entire 21 local government areas in the state according to results declared at the collation centre. The governor who ran for a second term in office, polled 234,071 votes to beat Tony Nwoye of the All Progressives Congress, APC who came second with 98,752 votes while the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s candidate, Oseloka Obaze, came third in the November 18 contest with 70,293 votes.
