Call her the ‘IT’ TV girl and you won’t totally be wrong what with the several media jobs she has snagged since coming into the public space. From hosting duties, to being a brand ambassador to being made a judge of a beauty pageant and to her current job as a co-host on Mnet’s 53 Extra – Amira Ibrahim-Alfa has her sights on not only being a media fox but one with a difference.

One of the beautiful daughters of former Chief of Air Staff, the Late AM Ibrahim Alfa and society lady, Kemi Adewunmi, Amira Ibrahim-Alfa within a short period of her return to the country, quickly registered her presence and her skills in the minds of pundits. Amira must have made an impression when on her return to Nigeria in 2016, she co-hosted the red carpet of the Africa Fashion Week Lagos alongside Denrele Edun thus laying the foundation that boosted her career.

Little wonder she was rewarded for her impactful style of hosting when she was awarded the Most Promising Red Carpet Host award at the 5th edition of lifestyle magazine, Glam & Essence Style Awards and Runway Show in 2016. Not too long after, the vivacious Amira Ibrahim-Alfa was found worthy enough to be named the face of Africa Fashion Week Nigeria which took place in May 2017, as well as the Africa Fashion Week London which comes up on 11th and 12th of August 2017.

Speaking on the choice of the fast upcoming TV ‘IT’ girl, the founder of the fashion show brand, Ronke Ademiluyi said Amira was chosen to be the Face of Africa Fashion Week 2017 because of her model presentation of today’s young African woman, who is vibrant, vivacious, and unafraid to dream by stepping out of the norm to make her mark in a career. She has also been tapped to be a judge at the Miss Tourism Nigerian pageant set to take place this weekend, August 5th 2017.

A graduate of Advertising from the University of The Arts London and a Masters Degree holder in Theatre Arts from Middlesex University, UK as well as an alumnus of the performing Arts school in Lamda, UK, Amira Ibrahim-Alfa on her return home in 2016, did her internship with EbonyLife TV from where she learnt the ropes in television presenting. However her love for the spotlight began at age 3 years when she participated in a school production and broke into the Nigerian media scene at the age of 9yrs old, when she stared alongside Joke Silver, Olu Jacobs, Buky Ajayi and Bimbo Manuel in the award winning film by Fred Amata, ‘The King Maker’.

While in school in England, her passion for acting didn’t abate as she continued to train and participate in productions like ‘Sweet Charity’ – as Nickie, ‘Oliver’ – as The Artful Dodger, Ipi Tombi etc. Her impressive performance got her the 2012 Excellence Drama award at the Mounts St. Mary’s College, Derbyshire, UK. Besides acting and presenting, Amira is a photographer’s delight having mastered the art of connecting intimately with lenses as a fashion model.

She has worked with some of the best photographers in the industry like Emmanuel Oyeleke, Kelechi Amadi-Obi, Chinedu Odogwu as well as reputable Nigerian designers such as Nikky Khiran, Ade bakare, FinAfrik etc. Booked round the clock for jobs, the young lady isn’t resting on her oars.
