The last may probably not have been heard in the ongoing marital dispute between actress and fashion entrepreneur, Mercy Aigbe and her ex-husband, Lanre Gentry. The actress had posted the video of the injuries she sustained from the last battery she received from her husband (it was a regular), that led to her finally leaving him, as a promotional strategy for an upcoming walk against domestic violence tomorrow.

The husband applauded her in the comment section of her instagram, insinuating that the injuries was all makeup for a movie and that she was making money off her followers by fooling them. He went on to add that he was eager to see the movie and urged Adekas, a movie distributor to notify him on the releases date for the movie. Continuing, he denied ever raising his hands at her insisting that she is after cheap publicity, sympathy, money and freedom adding that having secured all that, she should quit soiling his name and blackmailing him.
He went on to rebuke her for posting the video knowing fully well that they have a pending case in court when it is the court that has the sole prerogative to make a ruling and not the internet or her followers. He concluded by insisting that he was innocent of all the accusations but knows that one day, the truth will prevail as the public isn’t aware of who she really is.
Livid with anger, Mercy responded by insisting that Lanre Gentry was lying.
“Mr Gentry keep denying, you need more lies. I have more than enough evidences, witnesses and your fate will be determined in the law court. Begging in private and forming saint in public. Now you suddenly remember the kids? Now you suddenly remember you have a family name? When you were busy telling all those hideous lies against me, you forgot we have kids!
“Throwback to when a man I call my husband almost blinded me! Keep the denials and your numerous lies coming! I am ready for you…..Mr Gentry,” Mercy Aigbe said
“When you were busy punching me, hitting me and almost killed me that day, you forgot we had kids? (Which was not your first time). In fact if you infuriate me any further I will put everything online including the undertaking you signed three years ago at the police station so the whole world sees you for who you are. I have protected you for too long. Keep it coming I am so ready for you. I never knew I was married to my enemy.”
She then went on to release a private chat between them where Lanre pleaded with her to forgive him.

Continuing, she said, “Why will a man who obviously beats his wife, try so much to deny what he did? My take is, it is because he knows what he did is wrong and apparently he is ashamed and cannot own up to it. Let us be very careful of what we do especially when we are angry as we might not know the consequences of that action.
“Violence like I keep saying does not and will not solve anything, let us learn to control our anger at all times. Arguments are bound to happen between couples but under no circumstances should we let it result into violence! Nobody has a right to hit, his or her partner regardless. Battery and assault is a CRIME.”
