Governor Nyesom Wike’s Commissioner for Information, Dr. Austin Tom-George, has formally tendered his resignation. In a letter to the governor, the commissioner stated that his resignation would take effect from June 23.          

“I wish to resign my appointment as Commissioner for Information and Communication with effect from today, June 23, 2017. I have handed over officially to the Director of Administration in the Ministry,” he said.

Tom-George a former lecturer at Pan-African University thanked Wike for the opportunity given him to serve the state but did not give any reason for his resignation.

Meanwhile, the governor had earlier on sacked the State Commissioner of Works, Mr Bathuel Harrison and it was with immediate effect.

He was directed to hand over all documents in his possession to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry. No reason was given for the sack.
