Sleeping is one of the most important things we do either day or night and getting the right amount of sleep has an untold number of health benefits while not getting enough sleep causes untold health issues one of which is insomnia. But even better is the additional benefits of being able to sleep well and do so in your naked state.

Sleeping naked is easier because you don’t have to worry about sleeping in your pajamas or night dress.

It can make you feel happier and free because you are free of your clothes and constrictive underwear. It’s just you sandwiched between the sheets, making you to sleep deeper.

As a couple, skin-on-skin contact is the best especially when it comes to cuddling. This kind of contact can also lead to a more active sex life which helps release copious amounts of oxytocin, that helps you feel better about yourself, your significant other as well as lower blood pressure, boost your immune system and reduce anxiety.

It can help your skin to breathe thereby lowering the risk of skin diseases that result from wet restricted skin.

Experts say it helps regulate the cortisol which is a very strange chemical in the body that is capable of doing a lot of damage. When you sleep naked, your body temperature at the optimal, ranges so your body can better create cortisol. If you sleep in an overheated environment, your cortisol levels tend to stay high, even after you wake up. But when you sleep naked, your body temperature comes down, you are able to sleep well so your body can properly produce and regulate cortisol.

Closely related to cortisol regulation is melatonin and growth. Sleeping in an environment below 70 degrees every night can help your body regulate its melatonin and growth hormone levels which helps to prevent aging and is essential to good health. When you sleep in clothes, your body heats up and prevents effective use of these hormones. In other words, sleeping with clothes on makes you grow old faster.

It keeps the sex organs happier. For men, cooler sleeping conditions allows your testicles to remain at a cooler temperature. That way, your sperm is healthy and your reproductive systems function as normal. For women, the cooler and more airy sleeping conditions can actually help prevent yeast infections. Yeast grows better in warm moist conditions.

If you are looking to burn fat in your body, then sleeping au natural is the way to go. Food nutritionists say brown fat which has the ability to produce 300 times more heat is now on the rise. While ordinary white body fat piles on when you eat more calories than you burn, brown fat which is actually good fat, generates heat, thus burning that energy stored in white fat. Though brown fat is common in babies, it’s what keeps them warm and studies have found that there are small deposits in our necks.

However, if you are ill or the temperature in your sleeping environment is cool, you are better off sleeping with your clothes on.
