‘76’ wins big at 2017 AMVCAs

The 5th edition of the annual and most prestigious movie awards on the African continent, Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) held on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos. The ceremony, which was broadcast live across the continent, was hosted by IK Osakioduwa and South African television personality, Minenhle ‘Minnie’ Dlamini.

As was expected, there were quite a number of surprises with regards to recipients of the awards. While the movie, ‘76’ scooped a record five awards out of its 14 nominations, a relatively new comer, Sambassa Nzeribe won in one of the biggest categories, Best Actor in a leading role. He was nominated alongside, industry veterans such as Richard Mofe Damijo, Olu Jacobs, Ramsey Nouah etc.
