Former member of the defunct Plantashun Boiz group, Blackface has been sued by his former colleague and friend, 2Baba for the sum of N50m. Blackface claims 2Baba is suing him over his age-long claim that he wrote ‘Let somebody love you’ and ‘African Queen’.

In a post on Instagram, Blackface said, “2face idibia and his manager, Efe Omorogbe sued me for N50m. They are claiming I didn’t write ‘Let somebody love you’ and ‘African Queen’ and what else? Just about time me and my legal team file for my defense after which I will release my album, ‘Rising Sun (defender Vol2)’. Recall that 2Baba had in May 2017 asked his former collaborator to apologise for making defamatory statements or face legal action. In a letter sent through his lawyers, Seun Omotoba & Co, 2Baba demanded that he retract his comments.

Blackface has over the years leveled allegations of song theft and failure to give him song writing credits against 2Baba. He has accused the singer of orchestrating his marginalization in the music industry. He also claimed that 2Baba sabotaged his career by plotting to deprive him of shows for several years.
